Owner-Built Cabins, Green Homes, Barns and Barn Houses

|
Build your own cabin,
house, cottage or barn with one of Shelter-Kit's easy prefab
buildings. |
Shelter-Kit
Incorporated has been designing and manufacturing high quality
buildings since 1970. All of their buildings are sold as pre-cut
kits, all are specifically designed for assembly by
owner-builders, all use post and beam framing systems that
encourage a wide variety of owner-inspired floor plans and
permit almost unlimited door and window placement.

At Shelter-Kit,
they will work with you on designing your building, they will
help you obtain a building permit, they will arrange shipping
anywhere, and they will be available to answer your questions
before, during, and after construction.
Their cabin, home
and barn kits include all the materials you'll need to build a
complete, weather tight shell, including the frame, siding,
sheathing, hardware, roofing and sub floors. The kits are precut
and predrilled, making them easy to assemble, in 3 to 15 days
for most models. All materials are selected for quality and ease
of assembly and fit, with the weight of each piece limited to
what two individuals can handle.
Each building
comes with a detailed Construction Manual that's easy enough for
amateurs to understand. The manual includes drawings and
step-by-step instructions, specifically created for each
customer’s kit. Your kit can be customized to meet your
individual requirements. Options include building size, windows
and doors, stairs, dormers, ceiling heights, cathedral ceilings
and more.
Their Green Home
kit was created in response to many requests for a kit that can
be a major part of a complete green home project, and can be
owner-built. The Green Home kit uses features, designs and
materials that will gain points towards certification of your
whole building project to the National Green Building Standard.
Shelter-Kit ships
their kits all 50 states, Canada and internationally.
